Arua (Uganda)

Arua lies in the North-western region of Uganda, West of Nile, near the borders of Congo and Sudan. There is a population of around 50,000, and it’s the regional centre therefore having lots of political and economical activities. The dominating religions here are Roman Catholic, Anglican and Islam. DIGUNA has been working here since 1997 with a small team. Jointly with the Anglican church, Evangelical church and National church-movements, we use different activities to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people:

• Evangelistic outreaches to "West Nile"
• FM-Radio station "Voice of Life"
• Church-oriented short-term Bible school
• Literature distribution
• Prison-ministry
• Overseas Bible correspondence-courses
• Medical work

Alongside the above, it is our aim to help the local Church to grow and be relevant for both young and old.  The growth of children and youth work is also important to us as well as music, which we support by providing instruments, repairs and lessons.

The work in medical and church settings is a new challenge for us, but it gives us the opportunity to spread the love of God to the people in a practical way.
